1 / How do I enroll my child?
Step 1: click "schedule a meet & greet" at the top of the page. Don't worry, meet & greets are done virtually, on your schedule, and should only take about 10-15 minutes. Afterward, Dr. Janke will send you all the information to get your children signed up as well as get your child scheduled for their first check up! Meet & greets are required prior to enrollment.
2 / Do we require vaccines?
No. Though Dr. Janke and the majority of the scientific community highly recommend vaccines, she does not require you vaccinate your child to be a member of Free Range.
3 / What is direct pediatric care (ie//DPC)?
DPC aims to reclaim the doctor patient relationship by allowing direct access to your doctor for one of the most stressful times of life; parenthood! In a DPC practice, the doctor is working for you and not for your insurance company. Your pediatrician's motivation becomes your child's health and happiness, and not your insurance company's reimbursement rates. You have direct access to Dr. Janke via text/video chat/phone call. It's like having a doctor in the family.
4 / Do we take insurance?
No. We do not bill insurance and have no contracts with insurance companies. Dr. Janke's priorities are her patient's and their families. Not taking insurance means we do not have to follow one-size-fits-all insurance algorithms and guidelines. Not taking insurance allows us to offer truly personalized care.
5 / Should I keep my child insured?
Yes! Referrals to specialists, labs, and vaccines are often cheaper with insurance. Insurance would also help with unexpected visits to the ER or overnight hospital stays.
6 / Do you take medicaid patients?
We do not participate with medicaid. We will not bill medicaid and your medicaid benefits cannot be used toward your membership. Your medicaid could still be used for prescriptions, labs, and images.
